1. First timer? So you’ve decided to get a tattoo. Why? Whatever reason, it’s ok with us, but we would like to give you some information on the world of the tattooed person! If you’re hoping to get a good job, it would be a good idea to get it somewhere not visible when you wear a short sleeve shirt. A couple of the most painless spots are the top of the arm or the back of the shoulder. When you decide to get your artwork, please eat a small meal before you come in, and please wear an old shirt (you would not believe how many people come in wearing new white shirts). The pain of a tattoo is not like an injection, but rather like real irritating like a aggravating voice in your ear over and over and over. Get it? Sometimes when you run over a nerve it will hurt a bit for just a short time but it is not something all that terrible. Trust me, you will want another one!

2. One of the most important things to think about is to find a clean studio! It is your life we are talking about. Viruses are the hardest to kill and the easiest to catch. Make sure the shop that you choose sterilize with an Autoclave. Also make sure they have a current certificate from the health department. If the shop doesn’t look right, LEAVE. It is Your LIFE! Old skool studios who don’t upgrade their sanitation practices should be shut down! It is a new day with new bugs- BIG BUGS that will kill you!

3. Quality Work is what you want! It is also what you pay for. Bargain hunting is not a good idea! This is permanent on your body forever (would you bargain hunt for a surgeon?). There are good shops that don’t soak your pocket just- look at other peoples’ work. Ask who is their artist- they will be glad to turn you on to their tattooist! Famous artists do charge big money but they deserve the big bucks, they made it!
